QUALITY ASSURANCE & QUALITY CONTROL
Fu Tian cares about quality, that’s why we grow our own herbs. We are in the unique position of being able to control every step in the process; giving us the ability to guarantee the freshness, purity and consistency of the certified organic herbs used for Fu Tian extracts. Fu Tian has the distinct advantages of choosing the herbs from original wild medicinal seed stocks from China, and pioneering in the efforts of cultivating herbs with wild quality (like Chinese wild collected materials) as well as adhering to traditional harvest and processing protocols ultimately combining the best quality herbs into a menstruum with certified organic grape ethanol. This creates a remarkably efficacious as well as easy-to-use extract. All herbs used are authenticated of proper identity, assuring that the current industry issues of adulterants, substitutions or misidentified materials are never used in Fu Tian products. About ninety percent of Fu Tian products are made from herbs grown specifically at the Fu Tian monitored Chinese Medicinal Herb Farm. The remaining herbs used in formulas are carefully evaluated by our staff and are only of the best certified organic quality and always domestically produced. All herbs are dried and processed according to time-tested Chinese tradition. Sulfured, irradiated, GMO ingredients or endangered species are never used. Herbs are fresh; the common practice of using older herbs is not an issue because Fu Tian herbs are not subject to long container ocean trips, middleman sales, and the widespread practice of extended storage. Herbs in storage are kept as whole as possible and only size reduced in amount needed for immediate extraction – this keeps herb quality high and vital qi intact.
Before herbs are extracted every herb is botanically authenticated by experienced herb grower Peg Schafer. Herbs are also variously botanically identified by Robert Newman, L.Ac. M.S.C.M., and the American Herbal Pharmacopoeia as well as occasionally chemically authenticated by independent labs with HPLC, HPTLC and Gas Chromatography tests. The herb storage room is monitored for dryness to prevent mold, fungus, and bacterial issues; all light is excluded and temperature variations are moderated. Before and after the well-documented manufacturing process, each extract is organoleptically assessed for quality and consistency by herbalist Sean Fannin, C.H., Dipl. CEM and similarly tested by a panel of experienced licensed practitioners. Inventory turnover is high; and stock is organized to sell by date sequentially. All throughout the growing, processing and handling of these botanicals our trained and qualified staff take ultimate care, with your or your client’s wellness in mind.
